At some ski resorts, SnowitPass allows children to ski for free with a parent thanks to the dedicated accompanied child rate.
This offer is not available at every resort and the eligibility requirements may vary. Before going skiing, always check whether the accompanied child rate is available in the SnowitPass rate tables for your chosen resort.
Who can benefit from the accompanied child rate?
The rate may apply when a parent skis together with their child and the selected resort offers this benefit.
The eligible age may vary depending on the resort. To check the applicable conditions, refer to the relevant SnowitPass rate table.
What do I need?
To correctly benefit from the accompanied child rate:
- the parent and child must each have their own active SnowitPass;
- both must have their own personal SnowitCard linked to their subscription;
- the child’s age must have been entered correctly when purchasing the subscription;
- the same payment method must be linked to both subscriptions;
- the payment method must have sufficient funds available to cover both pre-authorisations. The child’s pre-authorisation will then be released in full, except for the insurance cost if insurance is active.
You may be asked to provide an identification document for the child to verify eligibility for the benefit.
⚠️ Important
The accompanied child rate is not applied automatically simply because both subscriptions belong to the same account.
All applicable conditions must be met, including the correct use of the turnstiles.
How do I link the subscriptions?
On the same Snowit account, both the parent and the child must have their own personal SnowitPass subscription linked to their respective SnowitCard.
From the SnowitPass Subscriptions section of your account, make sure that:
- the parent and child are linked to the correct SnowitCards;
- both subscriptions are active;
- the personal details are correct;
- the same payment method is linked to both subscriptions.
How should we pass through the turnstiles?
For the rate to be recognised, both the parent and child must make at least one passage through the turnstiles at the same ski resort during the same day.
This allows the system to recognise that the child has skied together with the parent throughout the day.
How does the pre-authorisation work?
When accessing the turnstiles for the first time, a pre-authorisation is made for both the parent and the child.
The linked payment method must therefore have sufficient funds available to temporarily cover both amounts.
Once the ski day has been completed correctly:
- the applicable SnowitPass rate is charged to the parent;
- the child’s pre-authorisation is released in full;
- if insurance is active on the child’s subscription, the relevant insurance cost will still be charged.
Depending on the bank or payment network, it may take a few days for the released amount to appear on your account.
What happens if the conditions are not met?
If even one of the required conditions is not met, the system may not recognise the accompanied child rate.
In this case, the parent and child may receive two separate charges, calculated according to the rates in force at the ski resort.
Before you start skiing, make sure that:
- the accompanied child rate is available at the selected resort;
- both SnowitPass subscriptions are active;
- the SnowitCards are linked correctly;
- the same payment method is linked to both subscriptions;
- the parent and child make their first and last passage through the turnstiles together.
Refund requests will not be accepted if all of the required conditions have not been met.
